Advance the equitable personalization and relevance of the programs you offer students
CEI was recently approved by the Colorado Department of Education (CDE) to be a School Redesign provider in support of schools and districts across our state. CEI works with school and district leaders from across Colorado to support targeted improvement efforts through our comprehensive change management process.
CEI’s approach centers around six core design commitments: diversity, equity, and inclusion; family and community partnership; change management that leverages design thinking and continuous improvement; social and emotional development; and youth activation; all driven by high-quality and visionary leadership. Our team supports schools and districts through deep data analysis combined with broad community empathy building to attain clarity around the current state and the problem areas, to identify the root causes, and to develop aims and drivers to inform and direct improvement efforts. CEI trains and supports our partners to use a user-centered design thinking process to conceive of and design novel solutions for their local contexts, while at the same time being inspired by evidence-based best practices to guide their efforts toward high-probability positive impact. Finally, we train and coach leaders through disciplined continuous improvement processes to implement change practices.
CEI’s work is grounded in a long-term vision that every student in Colorado is prepared and unafraid to succeed in school, work and life, and ready to take on the challenges of today, tomorrow, and beyond. We hold a unique place in Colorado’s education landscape that allows us to make connections, move mindsets, spur possibilities, and drive system-level transformation to get the most promising practices off the ground and into classrooms. We both share the excitement of what’s working across Colorado and help set the stage for what’s next in K-12 educational systems nationwide.
Since its inception in 2007, CEI (formerly the Colorado Legacy Foundation) has played a pivotal role in advancing critical initiatives in Colorado’s public education system as a key partner to CDE. Early on, CEI had an important influence in bringing focus to educator effectiveness and creating awareness about the critical link between student health and academic achievement. Ten years later, CEI has established innovative partnerships with districts and schools that give educators a meaningful role in driving sustainable improvement in public education. CEI has a multi-faceted role serving as implementation expert, innovation thought leader, and state-wide convener and trusted partner.
