History

Since its inception in 2007, CEI (formerly the Colorado Legacy Foundation) has played a pivotal role in advancing critical initiatives in Colorado’s public education system as a key partner to the Colorado Department of Education.

Early on, CEI had an important influence in bringing focus to educator effectiveness and creating awareness about the critical link between student health and academic achievement.

Ten years later, CEI has established innovative partnerships with districts and schools that give educators a meaningful role in driving sustainable improvement in public education. CEI has a multi-faceted role serving as implementation expert, innovation thought leader, and state-wide convener and trusted partner.

CEI’s work is grounded in a long-term vision that every student in Colorado is prepared and unafraid to succeed in school, work and life, and ready to take on the challenges of today, tomorrow, and beyond.
