2017 Colorado Teacher of the Year Gives Computer Science Class a Makeover

Meet Colorado’s 2017 Teacher of the Year, Sean Wybrant, a computer science teacher from Palmer High School in Colorado Springs School District 11. When Wybrant began teaching computer programming and computer science classes, he noticed a gender gap in his class, especially with girls and minorities, so he took action — creating Tech Chic, a mentor-based club to inspire more young women to envision themselves working with technology.
